Monday April 11

Tuesday, April 12 -- In 1861, Confederate Soldiers invaded and shot at Union soldiers at Fort Sumter, SC. This marks the 150th anniversary of the Civil War!

Wednesday, April 13
In Class: Civil Rights & Vietnam during the Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Johnson Presidencies...By the way, I LOVE LBJ! :) His Great Society...look it up!

Thursday, April 14 -- In 1865, Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln went to Ford's Theater to see the British play "Our American Cousin." That night, John Wilkes Booth and a number of conspirators followed through on their plot to decapitate the federal government. JWB shot Lincoln in the back of the head that night, William Seward was attacked and brutally stabbed, and Andrew Johnson's conspirator got drunk at a bar and never followed through...Sic Semper Tyrannis...Abe Lincoln was assassinated...
