In Class:  Introduce imperialism in the late 19th & early 20th century:

Monday -- Go over the Q's from Friday -- HW Grade
  1. Define imperialism.
  2. What territories were added/annexed to the United States by 1910 – The answer is located in the Imperialism Flick by the 2:30 mark in the video (Stop watching the flick at 4:20)
  3. (Back to the reading) President McKinley once said “I have been through one war. I have seen the dead piled up, and I do not want to see another”. What war was he referring to?
  4. Look on page 2 of the Doc and check out the political cartoon. Explain in detail what you think is going on and what is the message to the reader?
  5. What is one reason people believe imperialism is a good thing?
  6. What is one reason people believe imperialism is a bad thing?
  7. Do you personally think imperialism has more pros than cons? Explain your answer in a sentence
  8. What were the two reasons America entered World War I?
  9. Do you think these two reasons were enough for the United States to go into war? (Opinionated)
