Week of August 31-September 4

Hey Gang!  Week THREE is upon us!  Though we have the 8th grade retreat on Wednesday and Thursday this week, we're going to read about slavery.  The Colonies and Slavery test on Friday has been cancelled.    Starting September 7, we'll start the American Revolution as we run the road to the Second Continental Congress!!!  Mark your calendars for September 24, Huzzah!

Day 1

In Class:  Colonial Slavery -- Colonial Slavery Packet Reading -- When was slavery introduced into the colonies?  Where was slavery first introduced in the colonies?  What were the roles of slaves?  Why were Africans chosen for slaves?  What was the Middle Passage?  Where in the colonies was slavery more prominent? --  Below is a video from the movie Amistad depicting the Middle Passage from Africa to the Caribbean Islands...
