Week 30: March 27-31, 2k23

 The Progressive Era comes to a close, but now, the rise of TR!


ESSAY Q: Theodore Roosevelt is considered one of the greatest presidents.  After reading through the document, watching the flicks, and based on our class discussions, explain how this statement is true.  You must use at least four examples in your argument. 


The paper will be no longer than three pages typed, double spaced, 12 font, Times New Roman, with one-inch margins.  MLA Heading!   I will not read any paper longer than three typed pages.  The paper will be written in the third person.  -- Graded in 5 point increments...

-Tell the reader one thing about TR before his presidency and how he became president Thesis: TR transformed the presidency… TR was the nation’s first modern president because…The world lives with TR’s accomplishments…TR is considered a great president because…

Body Paragraphs

-You should write about one to two topics per paragraph.

-If you can connect two topics in one paragraph…That’s cool, too… i.e. The Jungle & the Meat Inspection Act

-I know there are some things in the Doc you have to write the way they appear because I write the best Docs in the world, but do your best to give me YOUR words. It is YOUR paper after all…I’ve already had to write this kind of paper…I got a B+ on it.

Conclusion

Explain, based on the reading and your essay, if you think TR was a good president.  Why/why not?  THIRD PERSON!
