5 A for the Days Assignment and Dear Mr. President!

#Davis8, we've got two items here...

Dear Mr. President...  I want you to think of an issue that you feel is important.  If you could write the president one letter about one issue and ask him to help solve it, what would you say?  Your homework is to write the president a letter. There is no minimum and there is no maximum length. I only want this letter to be something you feel the president should know about an issue you want changed/resolved.  I want this letter to be genuine...

Issues you may wish to consider:-Gun regulation -Race relations -Gender equality -National security -War on Terror-Taxes/Economy -Minimum Wage -Immigration -Education -Abortion-Israel/Middle East -Death penalty -Police brutality -Energy/Environment Healthcare -Homeland security -Welfare -Same-Sex Issues -Unemployment -Tariff laws

This letter is due Friday, October 12 and is a HW assignment!
Xtra Credit -- 5 A for the Days!
We are currently experiencing something unique in American history; the appointment of a Supreme Court Justice. Just 100 other people in American history have been appointed to the Supreme Court and in President Trump's first years in office he has appointed Neil Gorsuch and is in the process of appointing Robert Kavanaugh. One of the things we discussed in class today was that the job of the Supreme Court is to "interpret the Constitution" or make decisions on court cases based on the way they view the Constitution. This means that Supreme Court Justices sometimes use their own personal opinions to make a decision. Some people believe that a Supreme Court Justice should not use their own personal opinions to make professional decisions. For 5 A for the Days I want you to answer the following question in a minimum one-paragraph explanation: Should the Supreme Court Justices use their personal opinion in any way to help them make a decision when hearing a court case? Explain why/why not.
This is due Monday, October 8 -- 12 Font, Times New Roman, Double-spaced, 1 inch margins MLA Format and is Xtra Credit!

This is a GREAT video that talks a little about how Justices think.
