Week 2: Aug. 20-24,2k18

Welcome to Week #2!  We're continuing our study of European Colonization 1600s-1700s.

Day 1
In Class:  Hey Gang, I'm sorry I am not in today.  Please continue to read European Colonization  and answer the Q's below in your notes.  When you get to the part where it says "Read Pages 48-59 and 65-68" this is a PDF.  IF you don't want to use the PDF, you can use the actual textbook which is an orange book on the shelf under in the back of the classroom on a black bookshelf...

This is SUPER important and NEEDS to be done by Day 2.  We are going over the Q's on Day 2 of this week.  You may work with a partner, BUT you need to have the answers in YOUR notes.  I may or may not check them for a HW grade on Day 2... Hmmm...IF you turned in your National Parks project today, make sure you have your name on the back and the block and be sure to take the "A for the Day" stamp and put a stamp in your agenda somewhere you can keep track of them for the year.  If you have an Q's, you can e-mail me and I will do my best to check my e-mail and respond.  Be Good!

2. Who were the settlers of Plymouth & the Massachusetts colony?
3. What are/were the pros and cons of European Colonization? (opinion)
4. List the New England Colonies  List the Middle Colonies.
5. List the Southern Colonies.
6. What was the main reason for settling the New England colonies
7. What was the main reason for settling the Middle Colonies?
8. What was the main reason for settling the Southern Colonies?
9. How did the New England colonies make money?
10. How did the Middle colonies make money?
11. How did the Southern colonies make money?
12. Which region do you think would be the best for farming? Why is this? :) 
13. Which region do you think would be the hardest place to live?
14. Do you think more people lived in cities or on farms?

1. How do you think knowledge and news spread throughout the colonies.
2. What do you think was the most important part of colonial life? (aside from surviving)
3. Do you think most colonists were formally educated?  Why/Why not?
4. The colonies grew tremendously from 1607—1750s from 50,000 to just over one million.
5. What impact do you think this had on the colonies/colonists?  Provide two examples.

Day 2
In Class:  Turn in your National Parks Project! -- Let's go over the Q's from yesterday and discuss some colonization stuff...

In Class: JUST IN CASE we did NOT finish going over the Q's of European Colonization then we will continue this...  Begin Colonial Slavery... Watch the video podcast below and answer the Q's below the video in your notes so we can go over them in class on Friday.  This is important and mandatory!
