Week of March 7-11, 2016

Hey Gang!  The Research Papers are DUE this Monday...To be honest, it is crazy to think how much y'all have done with these assignments and I look forward to reading through them.  We have a good week ahead of us looking at the end of the Gilded Age, immigration from 1880-1920, and then enter the Progressive Era 1900-1920, which cleans up the "Gilded Age" crap :)

Day 1
In Class:  President Research paper due!!! -- Gilded Age continues!  We'll look at the inventions of the Gilded Age and their effects: Lightbulb, telephone, airplane then dive into the era of immigration 1880-1920.

In Class:  Enter the Progressive Era: Looking at the images of Jacob Riis -- How the Other Half Lives and watch the Crash Course Progressive Era video below!

-1911 - Standard Oil Trust broken up by the Supreme Court

-1913 - XVI Amendment & XVII Amendments Passed
-1916 - Keating-Owens Act passed
-1917 & 1920 - XVIII & XIX Amendments passed
