Welcome Back Baby Birds...2014 is here!

Hey Baby Birds!  Welcome to 2014...It's hard to believe we are in the second half of the year!  So far we've colonized, learned why and how people settled the new world, revolted against a tyrant and kingdom, created a government, and seen 11 men preside over a nation rapidly changing and slowly creeping toward civil war.  We begin our journey with the Era of Reform.  What is reform?  We change things, but why?  The changes ahead include slavery, education, women's rights, religion, and the treatment of the imprisoned and mentally ill.  We will look at how the 1840s--1850s proved to be a revolutionary (meaning change) era while the nation also heads toward an impending crisis -- a Civil War.
