Week of October 21--25

Hey Baby Birds!  The government reopened!!! Huzzah!  That means Twitter works, the museums are up and running, the CDC is back to working on cures for major diseases, and Congress has "compromised".  I would like you to search for an article about the government shutdown, and write up a current event summary. 

This HW assignment is due Monday, October 28.  Huzzah and Be Good!
We have a big week ahead of us!  The government test is on Friday, October 25 -- Covering all VII Articles and all XXVII Amendments!  Huzzah!  This week, we will finish reading the Constitution.  We have the Bill of Rights (First ten amendments) and the remaining 17 freedoms, rights, rights taken, away, and other laws.  We need to look at how and why these amendments were passed over the years, especially because only 17 amendments have been passed since 1795.
Day 1
In Class:  Finish reading and interpreting the Bill of Rights (The First Ten Amendments!!!!)

Day 2
In Class:  Reading the amendments -- XI--XVI -- UGH Federal Income Tax...grrrrrrr...But we do create the Electoral College reform, rid the nation of slavery, give freed blacks rights, and grant freed blacks the right to vote.

Day 3
In Class:  Pick up Amendments XVII--XXVII -- We prohibit alcohol, give women the right to vote, bring back alcohol, give 18 year olds the right to vote, and limit Congressional pay raises.
