Week of Oct. 7 -- 11

The Revolution is over...Huzzah!  We will cover the Revolutionary War and begin our quest to understand the federal government this week.  Ironically, the government is SHUTDOWN this week, but we're still going to begin learning about it.  We will read the US Constitution and learn our three branches of government, seven Articles of the Constitution, and all XXVII Amendments...

Day 1
In Class:  American Revolution Paper Due!!! Revolutionary War packet...We will look at the advantages and disadvantages of the British and Americans during the war, how the war was fought, where the war was fought, and why the Americans had an advantage from the start...though they should have LOST!
HW:  Government Current Event due Friday, Oct. 11
Notes:  Government test coming up in the next two weeks...

Day 2
In Class:  Finish Revolutionary War packet...Begin our quest to learn the Constitution...

Day 3
In Class:  The Constitution...Preamble, Article I...The Congress -- Though they cannot seem to figure things out right now, we will still begin learning about the Legislative Branch!...House of Representatives and the Senate...What do they do?  Qualifications?  Jobs?  Powers? Powers denied?
HW:  Government Current Event due Friday, Oct. 11

Day 4
In Class:  Government Shutdown Current Event Due!!!...The Constitution...Article I -- House of Representatives and the Senate...What do they do?  Qualifications?  Jobs?  Powers? Powers denied?
