The Roaring Twenties ROARED...Economy BOOMED...Prohibition rolled on as organized crime run by Al Capone and others dominated the city streets...Women enjoyed a new social, sexual, and political freedom by finally liberating themselves from the shackles of the old ways of life in the home...and the nation was getting wealthier by the minute...What goes up...MUST COME DOWN!  The nation's economy tanked in October 1929 with the Stock Market Crash on Black Thursday and then again on Black Tuesday...Below is the road to the Market Crash, told by some who were alive during the Roaring Twenties and Great Depression
