This Week in Class: Theodore Roosevelt! (Doc) -- Paper due April 12, All classes! HARD COPY!

(We are watching 2:25-41:00    and    53:00-1:00:02)

ESSAY Q: Based on the readings, videos, and our discussions, Xplain how Theodore Roosevelt transformed the presidency and was the nation’s first modern president.

***You must include a minimum three examples/pieces of evidence in your argument**

The paper will be no longer than three pages typed, double spaced, MLA Format, 12 font, Times New Roman, with one-inch margins.  -5 points for any of these rules not followed and I will not read any paper longer than 3 pages.  

Print out the paper and physically hand it in to me unless you are concurrent.  -5 points for failure to do so.

The paper will be written in the third person. - Graded in 5 point increments


The only sources you may use are this packet and any video or video podcast that you have watched in class.  -15 points if you use an outside source.

Introduction Paragraph
  • Name of the president with a good hook to get the reader excited about the paper. :)
  • What number president and political party TR was
  • How TR became president and from what years did TR serve?
  • Thesis: TR transformed the presidency… TR was the nation’s first modern president because…

Body Paragraphs: Events/Actions you may wish to include -- You may use more than 3 examples, but 3 is the minimum.  My suggestion?...The more the better...

Conclusion
